A Familiar Spirit
Pyewacket was one of the familiar spirits of an alleged witch accused by the witchfinder general Matthew Hopkins in March 1644 in Essex, England.
_______________
Mr. Pyewacket’s Emporium of Design & Artistry began when this little witch-y, furry friend came into my life. He lived a rough street life as a stray garden cat when one fateful fight brought him into the safety of my friend Vikki’s bathroom. She nursed him back to health and when it came time to find him a forever home, she immediately thought of me, as I’d recently mourned my other furry friend of 21 years just the year before. It was agreed that I’d come and meet him and if it felt right, then I would bring him home. From the moment I saw him as he delicately tip-toed out of the bathroom, I knew that he found his home and that I found my new friend. His sweet demeanor and twitchy, crooked tail fit right in, and he soon eased into his new life.
Every day he brings a smile to my face and an irreplaceable warmth to my heart.
My belief that pets are family is stronger than ever and he inspires me daily.
I decided to design a logo for him, to capture his unique personality and Mr. Pyewacket’s Emporium of Design & Artistry was born. My vision is to harness the essence of our pets into custom, hand-lettered logos and then bring those logos to life through a collective of independent artists and craftspeople.
A portion of our pet logo proceeds are donated to independent trap neuter release (TNR) organizations and individuals to help supply food, blankets, and other supplies to support their amazing, dedicated work.
